Flight Instructor Ratings

Becoming a flight instructor means that you'll have a hand in training the next generation of aviators. Having an instructor certificate is highly desirable in a hiring environment and usually means that you'll be cheaper to insure from a potential employers’ perspective. Piston2Jet offers flight training for the CFI, CFII, and MEI certificates.

Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)

The CFI certificate allows you to provide primary flight instruction to new students in the aviation world. You'll be able to be employed by flight training organizations and potentially become a flight instructor within your own employer’s flight department. There are few other ways to learn as much about aviation as teaching others to fly.

Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII)

As a CFII you'll be able to instruct other pilots in the art of instrument flying. Having your student fly an approach, breakout at minimums, right on glide-path, and on course is a highly rewarding experience that many flight instructors say is worth all of the hard work to get the CFII certificate.

Multi Engine Instructor (MEI)

In addition to having the CFI and CFII, the MEI completes the professional flight instructor certificates and make for a well-rounded pilot especially--when paired with an ATP certificate. Multi-engine aerodynamics and performance is a large portion of the curriculum when working towards the MEI rating.

Piston2Jet often extends offers of employment to flight instructor students who exhibit the traits of an expert instructor pilot. These traits include having a deep understanding of aeronautical information pertaining to instruction, solid aircraft flying skills, and a positive attitude.
