Go INSIDE the Cockpit with the Blue Angels for Operation America Strong!

In this installment of Aviation Around the Internet we'll step into the cockpit of arguably the most famous flight demonstration squadron in the world..

The United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, The Blue Angels, are known around the world for their thrilling airshow demonstrations in brightly colored blue and gold F/A-18 Hornets. This year however, you're less likely to see the "Blues" at your local airshow due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this, airshows across the country have been cancelling their events in an act of precaution to slow the spread of the virus.

In a salute to first responders and medical professionals around the United States, the Blue Angels teamed up with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds for Operation America Strong. America Strong is an ongoing good will flyover operation that gave, and is still giving, the opportunity for us to step out into the fresh air to see our very own "Ambassadors in Blue" soar over our communities.

"The United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron “Thunderbirds” fly over Washington D.C., May 2, 2020. The flyover was part of America Strong; a collaborative salute from the Air Force and Navy to recognize healthcare workers, first responders, military, and other essential personnel while standing in solidarity with all Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic." Our friends over at Airshowstuff.com have complied some great footage of the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds performing these flyovers of various cities on their YouTube channel (https://bit.ly/2Lmh1CP) for your viewing pleasure. Some of these videos are of rarely seen "in-cockpit" views of the formation passing over US cities and landmarks.
